1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help pages remember your preferences, keep things working and tell us, in aggregate, how the site is being used. Some are essential. Others are optional and only set with your permission.
2. How we use cookies
We try to keep this simple. The cookies and similar technologies we use fall into three groups.
Strictly necessary
These are needed to make the site work, for example to keep the page secure and remember your cookie choices. They are always on and do not need your consent.
Analytics
We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how people find and use the site, so we can improve it. Where required, we only set these cookies after you give consent.
Embedded content
Pages sometimes embed content from third parties (for example YouTube videos or a calendar booking widget). These providers may set their own cookies. We only load this content where it is needed and you can read more in their own policies.
3. Managing your choices
You stay in control. You can:
- Change your browser settings to block or delete cookies. Most browsers let you do this in the privacy or security area.
- Use private or incognito browsing to prevent most cookies from being stored after your session.
- Ask us to clarify what a specific cookie does. Email info@mydestinyinc.org.
Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working properly.
4. Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no agreed industry standard for how sites should respond, so we do not currently change behaviour based on this signal. We keep our use of optional cookies to the minimum we need.
5. Changes to this policy
If we add new cookies or change how existing ones are used, we will update this page. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
A note on this document
This page is written in plain English so it is easy to read. It sits alongside our wider obligations under the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations. If anything here is unclear, please get in touch and we will explain it in more detail.
