1. Our commitment
My Destiny Inc is committed to protecting children, young people and adults at risk who come into contact with our work. Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility, and we treat every concern seriously, calmly and with care.
2. What we do
- We expect everyone who serves with us to read, agree and follow our safeguarding standards.
- We carry out appropriate checks (including DBS where required) for roles that involve direct work with children, young people or adults at risk.
- We design our programmes and events to be safe spaces, with clear leaders, clear boundaries and clear ways to raise a concern.
- We keep careful, confidential records of any concern raised and the steps we take.
3. Raising a concern
If you are worried about a child, young person or adult at risk, please tell us. You can email info@mydestinyinc.org and ask for the Safeguarding Lead. We will take you seriously, listen carefully and respond.
In an emergency, where someone is in immediate danger, please call 999. You can also contact your local authority safeguarding team, the NSPCC on 0808 800 5000, or the police non-emergency line on 101.
4. Confidentiality
We will handle information sensitively and only share it with people who need to know in order to keep someone safe, or where we are required to by law.
5. Review
We review our safeguarding approach regularly and update it in line with current UK guidance and good practice.
