Live in the Moment

A short read on presence, faith and the gift of today, choosing to be fully where God has placed you.

Live in the Moment

One of the quietest thieves of destiny is not failure. It is absence.

We can spend a whole life physically present and emotionally somewhere else, replaying a conversation that already ended, rehearsing a future that has not yet arrived, scrolling through other people's moments while ours pass us by.

The day God gave you was today

Scripture keeps drawing us back to now. Today, if you hear His voice. This is the day the Lord has made. Give us this day our daily bread. There is something deeply pastoral in that. God meets us in the present, because that is where we actually live.

"You cannot steward a season you refuse to be in."

What being present actually looks like

It looks like putting the phone down when your child speaks. It looks like noticing your spouse before you notice the news. It looks like staying in the room when the conversation gets hard, instead of disappearing into your own head.

Presence is not a feeling. It is a practice. And it is one of the most generous things you can give another human being, your full, unhurried attention.

A small invitation

Today, choose one moment to be fully in. One meal. One walk. One prayer. One face. Don't measure it. Don't post it. Just be in it. You may be surprised how much of your life has been waiting for you to arrive.
